Judy, Claire, Louise and Declan, the 2015 recipients of the Travelling Fiddlership award, learned these tunes at Shetland’s premier fiddle event, Fiddle Frenzy. The White Wife is the name of the resident ghost on the Isle of Unst. She appears in vehicles, usually driven by lone males, on a lonely stretch of road. It is also the name of a very refreshing ale, brewed
just a few miles from there! This intriguing tune is followed by a lovely composition by Kevin Henderson, and we finish the set with a lively, popular Shetland fiddle classic written by the legendary Willie Hunter. Thanks to Angus Downing and Jean McConnachie for joining us in this set.
