about

This poem was written by Robert Burns around 1790. A young farm boy plans to meet his girl. The tune is of traditional origin. My father used to sing this round the house, and when Jess Foot joined the fiddle club, I was looking for a song to encourage her to play a cor anglais solo with us. Jess’ playing is always so beautiful.
