about

This set was taught to us by Chris Stout and Catriona McKay during one of their visits to us in Melbourne. Da Sneug is the highest peak on the Shetland island of Foula. Rising 418m from sea level, with steep sea cliffs and the ocean all around, there is a feeling of being on top of the world. Finlay MacDonald, the Scottish piper, composed the last tune for his son. It is also recorded by Aly Blain and Phil Cunningham, so it is well known in Shetland. Playing this set reminds us of the fantastic times we have had with Chris and Catriona in both Melbourne and Shetland.
