about

Pria learned these French-Canadian tunes from the renowned Quebecois fiddler, Pascal Gemme. The first was composed by Claude Méthé, watching his young daughter learn to stay upright on ice-skates for the first time. The second is a very popular step-dance tune that has as many variations as Canada has regions! Despite the name, it’s not a jig, it’s a reel, or more precisely, a French-Canadian brandy. Soloing in this set are Alex Grenville on fiddle and Pete Dwyer on mandolin.
